About Oro Marjanishvili

The warm amber lighting and earthy tones inside create an inviting yet understated atmosphere, making it a suitably relaxed setting for sampling regional flavors. A glance through available photos online hints at a traditional but curated Georgian dining experience that balances rustic elements with touches of modernity. Although the service occasionally felt slightly rushed during busier hours, the staff remained attentive and knowledgeable, guiding guests through the menu with patience and helpful suggestions. This blend of ambiance and care ensures that the overall dining experience feels both authentic and comfortable.

One dish that stands out on the Oro Marjanishvili menu is the khachapuri, a hallmark of Georgian cuisine, baked to a golden crisp with just the right gooey cheese pull ensured in every bite. Dishes weave together simple ingredients into rich profiles, though some offerings err on the heavier side—an aspect worth considering when ordering multiple plates. Exploring the restaurant’s more adventurous selections reveals a strong inclination toward traditional flavors while occasionally incorporating subtle, unexpected twists. Customer feedback found across reviews often praises the depth and balance of the house specialties, though a few note that portion sizes can vary, which might influence overall value perception.

Unexpectedly lively conversations spill from neighboring tables, hinting at the restaurant’s local popularity among both visitors and residents. While the experience at Oro Marjanishvili might not always fully align with the polished precision seen in some upscale venues, the authenticity and heart behind each meal shine through unmistakably. Browsing through recent reviews and photos paints a picture of a place that prioritizes genuine culinary storytelling over ostentation. The ambiance, intertwined with the rich flavors, crafts a meal that serves as both nourishment and an informal cultural excursion.

I have visited Oro twice and it is one of my two favourite restaurants from my trip to Georgia. Both the Lobito and the special beef were amazing. Very good qvevri wine by the glass too.

We came here for our last meal in Georgia for shaqmeeuli (chicken garlic) and it was fantastic. There were outdoor seating area but people were smoking so we dined indoors. Very nice.

This is a must-go when in Tiflis! We had the Crispy Mushroom (an absolute 10/10) and the chicken in Baje- perfectly soft and tender from the inside, and cross skin. And you have to try the blackberry compot lemonade! And the Date Pudding with caramel sauce

This place has been recommended to me. It serves traditional Georgian cuisine with a little touch of “Je-ne-sais-quoi” that makes it modern and delicious. The red bean salad served warm was slightly spicy but was just so flavourful, I really liked it. The “Bajé”? (Sorry for my bad spelling), is like a tahini/hummus but made of walnut. It was good but it didn’t come with any bread so I didn’t really eat it on its own. As for the star of the dish, I tried the Shqmeruli which is grilled chicken mijoté in a creamy garlic sauce. The taste was phenomenal but maybe it was a little bit too heavy in this season (Summer). Very nice restaurant and very friendly staff, I’m glad I went there. The prices are very reasonable.

Had a fantastic meal here, our server Luka was able to help us understand the menu and make recommendations. The restaurant is classy, clean, large and open. It's a very nice vibe to sit outside as well. Absolutely recommend the blackberry compote, kebabs, and the beef soup. I'm sure everything on the menu is delicious though. We'll be back again!
